According to an article posted 29 August, 2008, by "De Telegraaf," Dutch journalist Joost De Haas, claims that a Dutch agent, working for the Dutch Intelligence Service (AIVD) in Iran, has been recalled by Dutch authorities due to an impending U.S. attack, "possibly within weeks."

According to De Haas, the U.S. airstrike is to come in the form of unmanned aerial vehicles, capable of striking Iranian nuclear capability without the risks to troops associated in a conventional attack. The AIVD reportedly has been running a campaign inside Iran in recent years, with the aim of undermining Iran's weapon's industry.

The English translation found at, http://worldmeets.us/detelegraaf000002.shtml, claims that the U.S. decision to strike within Iran is not limited to nuclear facilities alone, but also intends to target military bases identified by the AIVD. Apparently, the AIVD has been sharing information about Iran's capabilities with American intelligence for some years, according to "World Meets U.S.", the English version for De Telegraaf.

Additionally, the "World," article claims that Dutch operations have been successful at thwarting the delivery of Iranian missile parts and launch vehicles.

Joost De Haas is one of two De Telegraaf journalists jailed by the Dutch government last year for refusing to reveal their sources on their claim that Dutch secret service files were being leaked. The journalists were released; however the case prompted Dutch authorities to seek increased measures for requiring journalists to reveal their sources. http://www.ifex.org/e/content/view/full/79524/
