PRESS RELEASE
NEW ZEALAND JOINS THE HANDMADE REVOLUTION
New Zealand has joined the handmade revolution with the introduction of Craft Fetish (http://www.craftfetish.co.nz), a website which allows the trading of handmade goods online. Similar websites that have been introduced to other markets worldwide have received high praise from people who are wishing to buy local and support small art and craft businesses, which cannot afford the increasingly high overheads of running physical stores.
The new website, Craft Fetish, was launched on 25th June, and has already captured the attention of the growing community of craft artists. No longer are handcrafts such as knitting the domain of grandmothers – with a new youthful element being injected, it is now not uncommon to find funky handmade garments and items which would at home in almost any hip abode.
Craft Fetish seeks to allow sellers the ability to list their handmade products for sale 24 hours a day, at a fraction of the cost and time commitment of selling in craft markets, on a site which is also backed by a community where they can speak with like minded people and discuss their own obsession with crafts.
Craft Fetish was founded in August 2007, and can be visited at http://www.craftfetish.co.nz More »
